REBECCA’S LATEST BOOK

Superstar recording artist/songwriter Rebecca St. James just turned her pen toward authoring another book in the form of Pure—A 90 Day Devotional for the Mind, Body & Spirit (FaithWords). The text takes readers on an insightful journey through personal challenges and victories, written in an upbeat style and wrapped around Biblical principles. Fans attending Night of Joy this weekend will have first crack at scoring a signed copy during St. James’ autograph session at The Writer’s Stop bookstore (inside Walt Disney World) prior to her concert.

GO WEST YOUNG MAN

Not only will Chicago-bred/Nashville-based singer/songwriter Matthew West be heading in the direction of his last name, but he’ll pretty much cover the entire country throughout his fall tour. The 25-city trek (running through November) is in support of his recent release, Something To Say (Sparrow), backed by label mate Josh Wilson.

CARRIED AWAY ADDS NEW MEMBER

Though first introduced to American audiences at large via an opening slot on Jump5’s farewell tour, Canada’s Carried Away has since earned a steady following on its own. But those expecting an all girl act in concert will notice a new dynamic as original members Pam Walker and Christine Prankard continue with multi-instrumentalist/harmony vocalist Tyler Seidenberg. The female/male mixture promises a new album next year, but is currently putting the finishing touches on a Christmas single just in time for the holidays.

TV TIME FOR BELOVED

Speaking of girl groups, new Christian pop trio Beloved celebrated last month’s Wake the World (Trato/Infinity) with an extensive television tour. Visits included Daystar Television Network’s “Celebration,” TCT Network’s “REJOICE!,” FamilyNet’s “Mornings with Lorri and Larry,” plus the morning show “Live at 9,” which airs on Memphis’ CBS affiliate. As for the album, it was produced primarily by John Carrozza (Boyz II Men, Babbie Mason) with Third Day’s Mac Powell behind the boards on lead single “Love God, Serve Others.”
