Inpop Records' Article One Readies New Album Colors And...
( NASHVILLE, Tenn. ) May 7, 2008 – Pop/rock outfit Article One will release its second project with Inpop Records, Colors and Sounds, on May 27, 2008. Produced by Tedd T. (Mute Math, newsboys), Colors and Sounds is a departure from Article One’s conventional style, stretching the band artistically.

“Our first record was straightforward pop/rock. The sound was very clean,” says frontman Nathan Piché (vocals/guitars/keys). “Our goal for Colors and Sounds was to keep the pop/rock accessibility of the first record, while adding more artistic elements, such as an emphasis on Matt’s violin because it is so unique. More than just a collection of songs, this record has a lot of cool moments and textures.”

The 14-track disc is a worthy successor to Article One’s 2006 self-titled debut. Challenging the band’s musical inhibitions, this new project showcases unprecedented versatility for Article One, moving from guitars and horns on “Without You (I’m Not Alright)” to massive violin orchestration on “Never Too Late To Call.”

While the music stands on its own two feet, Article One is equally proud of the record’s lyrical content. “Colors and Sounds is not a concept album, but it does seem to revolve around the theme of purpose,” says Piché. “This project was really birthed from personal experience, and while the message is very clear, I think it is as accessible to non-believers as it is to believers. That was important to us.”

Last week, Article One wrapped its stint on newsboys spring “GO” tour, visiting 34 cities. This fall the band will join labelmate Superchick on the “Rock What You Got Tour,” also featuring Stellar Kart and Starlit Platoon. Additional tour details are forthcoming.

Founded by brothers Nathan and Matthew Piché, Article One formed five years ago in Ontario, Canada. Winner of the 2005 Kingdom Bound International Talent Search, Article One was additionally honored in 2006 with a Covenant Award nomination for New Artist of the Year. Having appeared on the 2007 SHOUTfest tour as well as on tours with The Elms and newsboys, the band performs an average of 150 dates annually. For more information, visit:

Article One takes their talent to the next level with incredible vocals and an amazingly large violin element. This cd is worth the money, coming in at 14 songs that could stay on repeat all summer!
    Keep it up Article One!
