Smackover, AR (February 15, 2008) – Tonecrash Recordings artist, Two Empty Chairs, is pleased to announce a partnership with actor and speaker, Jason McLeod (Facing the Giants), for Disciple Now Weekends, youth conferences, camps, college ministries and various other events across the country.
Through the pairing, the goal is to build relationships in a smaller setting while ultimately impacting young people to realize that God uses each one of us for His purposes – even when we feel unworthy or that we have done something beyond forgiveness – while also equipping them to go out and tell others about their faith.
“We are very excited about this opportunity,” exclaims Cliff Preston, frontman for Two Empty Chairs. “We met Jason at a Disciple Now event and became fast friends. He is a dynamic speaker who isn’t afraid to open up about how God has worked in his life in general and also through his experiences with Facing The Giants. It is great to see God doing amazing things through such a humble guy. We feel God has brought us together for a purpose and these events are only the beginning!”
The Disciple Now Weekends, designed for middle and high school aged students, are two to three day retreat-like events hosted by churches across the country and focus on times of small group Bible Study, sharing, fellowship, recreation, ministry and fun. Other gatherings such as youth conferences, camps and events for college students are also in the works in addition to the Disciple Now Weekends.
McLeod explains his excitement about the partnership: “I consider it a great honor and privilege to partner with this incredibly equipped and spirit-filled bunch of guys who just want to have a small part of God’s unfolding story. I believe God will do great and mighty things that will be more than we’ve ever asked or imagined through teaming up for ministry together!”
With a Disciple Now Weekend already slated for July 28-31 in Panama City Beach, FL, additional dates and events for the summer and fall are being considered now.
About Jason McLeod
Better known as "Brock Kelley, the kid who did the death crawl" in the widely-distributed Christian movie Facing the Giants, Jason McLeod shares a powerful testimony of how his life so paralleled with that of his character in the film. God used the movie in McLeod's life to show him how he was living a life of mediocrity as a teenager. Following the filming of the Facing the Giants, McLeod went on to Georgia Southern University where he played for the school’s Eagles football team for two years. Shortly before the release of the movie, God called Jason to step away from football to pursue the ministry. McLeod has a unique gift of connecting with audiences of all ages with his unbelievable energy and excitement for the Lord. Currently finishing his communications arts degree at Georgia Southern, McLeod also had the opportunity to participate in Sherwood Baptist Church's third feature film Fireproof, which is projected to hit theaters in the fall of 2008.
