BIOGRAPHY

Ason (as in ‘A son of God’) (a.k.a. Bigsonny) is an acclaimed rap artist poised to have a major influence on the hip-hop industry.  His obvious talent for song writing, coupled with a spiritual energy in his inspired delivery, has the young label owner's* buzz building among fans and industry insiders around the country.  Being a husband and father of two daughters and serving as the Youth Pastor at Capital Christian Fellowship, Ason’s heart for Christ shines through his life as well as in his lyrics.  In speaking of his music ministry, Ason says, "Many times God takes what man is doing and uses it as an opportunity to communicate His word. This is what God is doing through hip-hop. It's becoming an international language, and God is using that language."

A gifted lyricist, whose experience on stage shows up during his live performances, he consistently moves crowds of all ages into a fun frenzy and into praise and worship with potent words that are easy to understand and an agility with word-play that places him with the best in the industry.  Beginning just 4 years ago rapping to teenagers in his church, Ason has performed everywhere from night clubs to college campuses, church conferences, and high schools. Already he has shared the stage with Ciara, Lil' Mo, Mary Mary, Fred Hammond, Israel & New Breed, Tonex, Nicole C. Mullen, Cross Movement & da' T.R.U.T.H.,  Tye Tribett, 4th Avenue Jones, and many others.

Ason's sophmore project "The Recruiter - Part 1: Special Edition, " released in 2005, has sold over 7,000 copies through live performances and limited distribution.  Things are beginning to heat up for the talented emcee.  "The Outcome," the fan-demanded collaborative effort with fellow rappin' CEO Riff-Raff was released in October 2006 (360 copies sold 1st day!), and "Bigger Business," Ason's third solo album and first mainstream contribution is due to hit stores nationwide 4th Quarter of 2007.

Long-Term, Ason plans on widening the bridge between the world and the church by communicating God's mercy and love in the modern "language" of hip-hop. His album will be a foundation for this goal. Through his music and record label "Toe 2 Toe Records," Ason intends to make the word of God more accessible to the youth of today using the unique culture that is all their own. His message is one of urgency and relevance that is designed to reach the God-fearing as well as the "unreachable" and un-churched. "I'm calling out to young leaders," says Ason, "It takes a leader to stand for God these days and we need the influence of anointed leadership to bring change to our troubled communities."

Ason and his music represent a new wave of talent in the body of Christ. As both an artist and a preacher, he encourages all ministers of the Gospel to focus on the message and not the method. "Young people need more than a sermon," he says "they need something they can vibe with. If they feel they can relate to it, then you got 'em."
