BIOGRAPHY

In the 6 years ARLT has been together they have gone through different members, learn to manage a business, bonded as a group and defined their sound. They see today's youth as a critical tool in the development of this culture, and it is their goal to send a positive message in the midst of negative times. Their hope is at the end of every concert or worship event, through the power of God in them, ARLT's audience may find their answers in Jesus Christ.

Based in Texas, A Road Less Traveled has evolved their dynamic alternative rock sound over the past six years. Their desire is that they will be a ministry on and off stage, reaching anyone and everyone who will listen to their message.

In 2006, ARLT competed and won the largest battle of the bands in Texas. This competition was held in Lubbock, Dallas, Abilene, Austin and Midland. Many bands registered for the competition, but only ten were chosen to compete in each city, and only two winners from each city were fowarded to the final round. The finalist bands then battled it out in Midland where the winner would gain the opening spot at Rock the Desert 2006. ARLT entered in Lubbock and lost. With the loss behind them , they pressed on and entered again in Abilene, but had the same outcome. At last minute Scars Entertainment (www.scarsentertainment.com), the RTD event host, chose ARLT as a wild card band for the final round. In the end ARLT walked away as the winner of the Knockout Battle of the Bands 2006. Not only did they win the spot to open at Rock the Desert, but received awards for "Hottest Merch", the "Online Promotion Award", and unanimous vote for "Best Song" with "Maybe". Rock the Desert was an action packed festival where ARLT performed in front of a crowd of 15,000, alongside artists such as Jeremy Camp, Delerious?, Kutless, Barlow Girl, and Family Force 5.

In July 2006 ARLT began recording their full-length debut album entitled "Rescue". The title for this album portrays hope, change, and love with an underlying message that we have been rescued. This highly anticipated album contains 12 original tracks and will be a nation wide release. Prior to relase ARLT has been promoted in HM magazine and CCM magazine.

In the past, ARLT was featured as an FX band at the Youth Evangelism Conference in San Antonio, Texas alongside such artists as Superchick, Chris Tomlin, Daily Planet, Jump 5. To date the band has played all over Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Missouri. They have been paired with youth speaker Brad Duncan and comedian Bob Smiley. In the future they are scheduled to open for national acts such as Building 429 and Hyperstatic Union.

Recently, A Road Less Traveled was involved in a national battle of the bands in which they won 2 rounds earning them spot to play beside yet more artists such as Skillet, Day of Fire, Building 429, Fireflight, EleventySeven, Nevertheless, Flatfoot 56, Detour 180, and By the Tree. In December 2006 they competed in the final round showcase in front of Fervant and Word Records, Jeff Roberts and Associates and other music industry representatives. At the competition in Nashville, TN they placed 4th in a nation-wide battle w/ over 25 of the nations top independent bands from all genres.
