Your world by Matt Conner Hymns for Hunger: When faith and need collide While many tours import some element of supporting a cause, this year’s Hymns for Hunger tour centers itself on the idea. Songwriters Cindy Morgan and Andrew Greer partnered this fall for the tour that marries Americana-style spiritual favorites with a local, vital cause. “About two years ago I felt God impress Isaiah 61 on my heart,” says Morgan. “So linking a tour to something with a greater reach has been brewing in me for a while. I have loved this tour more than any other I have been a part of. “Spiritually, it has been so special to play events that are about serving others, lifting up the broken and being doubly blessed in the process.” Both artists have enjoyed strong success on their own, but considered the idea important enough to lay aside their own solo endeavor for the sake of Hymns for Hunger.
