Smooth. Romantic. Timeless. Matt Wertz gets
it all absolutely perfect. His signature guitar
stays intact, but an impeccable, upbeat vocal
ensures his style is not stagnant. “Someone
like You” is a lively, infectious pop song with a
hint of country, and “Easier Tonight” exhibits
one of Wertz’s best vocal offerings to date.
The Mississippi-born singer/songwriter has
produced another flawless album, and though
it is not overtly Christian, the project is a
clean, cheerful project brimming with brilliant
love songs.

The well-rounded
pop/rock
compositions on The
Seas We Sail belie the
solo act behind the
music. Tidewater is
actually Brett Allen,
the lone gunman behind the impressive,
mostly straightforward fare on this re-
release of his full-length debut. It’s a shame
songs like “City lights” and “Surrounded”
weren’t discovered the first time around,
but Tidewater will no doubt make waves in
time.

Love is Taking over (Independent)
FOR FANS OF: One Republic, David Archuleta
QQQQ
He may be young, but
newcomer dakota
Green showcases
maturity beyond his
years on his latest
EP. Radio single “All I
Wanna know” boasts a
soaring vocal backed by a catchy chorus and
synth additions. Green shows a broad range
of ability, with the one Republic-esque title
track, and the smooth and moving vocals on
“let It Go.” The album centers around the
theme of surrender, and the result is truly
beautiful and freeing; definitely an indie artist
to watch.
