BeBe Winans also shined on several occasions, belting out the booming soul of “Addictive Love” and encouraging the audience to sway alongside the current praise cut “Close To You.” There are several parallels between BeBe & CeCe Winans and Mary Mary, from the fact that each duo is comprised of siblings, to each act’s commitment to the Word and their extensive crossover appeal along the way. Together, the four lead singers, a five-piece backing band and three supporting vocalists collaborated for one of this year’s greatest gospel tours. CeCe especially glowed as she channeled Mavis Staples and The Staple Singers during a cover of “I’ll Take You There,” while she also displayed a series of impressive vocal runs throughout “Addictive Love.” Of course, there were plenty of past hits that helped bridge the gap between the energetic pair’s spiritual and secular crowd. A ballad medley revolved around themes of hope and perseverance, while “Shackles (Praise You)” got everyone standing with hands outstretched and “God In Me” coasted in all out throwdown mode. This particular outing marks the first time BeBe & CeCe have toured together in over 15 years, splitting their set list between golden R&B oldies and samples from their reunion record Still (B&C Records/Malaco). As a result of the group’s vast history and recent resurgence, the audience was multi-generational spanning from literally all walks of life. CliCk here for the hottest tours of the suMMer!
