DOROTHY SAVAGE
Glorious Mess (Crimson Pink)
FOR FANS OF: BarlowGirl, Joy Williams, Hilary Duff
QQQQ
Capitalizing on the giftedness of songwriting
pros like Chris Sligh, Jason Ingram and Cindy
Morgan, the Christian music intelligence
of former 4Him-er, Marty Magehee and
mainstream production sensibilities of Chris
Omartian (Hilary Duff, Pink), new edgy pop
artist Dorothy Savage broadcasts her sold-
out faith in Christ via a dazzling debut set.
Tracking some serious radio-ready fi re, the
blazing singer keeps it popping from start to
fi nish. Though production occasionally fails
to meet the expectations her vocal leadership
requires, the only real shame would be if
Savage’s lack of major label association
snuffed out her sparkling new artist debut.

ReUnite (BEC Recordings)
FOR FANS OF: Five Iron Frenzy, Less Than Jake,
Reel Big Fish
QQQ
After a fi ve year hiatus, Christian ska’s
favorite sons are back together for some
summer spot dates at major festivals.
Though this isn’t the reunion albums fans
were hoping for, it’s an ultra fun 13-track
recollection of the group’s horn-heavy
catalogue thus
far. While not as
comprehensive
as 2005’s Unite or
2008’s double disc
Ultimate Collection
(and certainly
suggesting overkill in
the compilations department), there’s still
plenty to smile about on these spiritually
skanktifi ed tunes that are said to mirror the
upcoming tour’s set list.

The One (I’m Fighting For) EP (Inpop)
FOR FANS OF: Starfi eld, MIKESCHAIR, Lady
Antebellum
QQQ
Brothers Nathan
and Matt Piche have
successfully turned
their homegrown
band, Article One,
into an independently
successful musical
force. With the
touring work ethic of their indie peers and
the polish of major label mega-stars, the
Canadian foursome pair hand-selected
catalog tunes with one new cut—giving
fans a six-song EP and sneak peak into
their full-length fall release. Sophisticated
production satisfi es the brothers’
songwriting giftedness and the band’s
playing aptitude, smartly highlighting
Matt’s stellar string contributions. But even
with their recorded shine, the fellas’ trendy
pop is met with stiff competition and only
time will tell if their sonic nuances are
enough to rise above.
