Artists And orgAnizAtions helping to fight injustices Around the world
When I traveled to India in 2005 and saw
firsthand the tragedy of sexual slavery, I made
a commitment to spend the rest of my life
speaking on this issue and working to make a
difference. Recently it’s become apparent that
you don’t have to go across the world to impact
change for those victimized by slavery, but
possibly, just across the street.
In the last couple of years we have been made
aware of the need for quality services for domestic
survivors of sexual slavery, specifically dedicated
shelters. The Home Foundation, founded in 2005,
is passionate about working to increase the
number of these homes in the United States.
When you give to The Home Foundation, you
help us change lives by supporting Christian
shelters devoted to the full restoration of
survivors, thus increasing the likelihood that these
individuals can lead productive lives, free from
their pasts.
Established shelters dedicated to the total
restoration of an individual rescued from sexual
slavery will have a huge impact on the face of
modern-day slavery and the abolitionist movement
of the 21st century. When victims become totally
reintegrated into society, they are empowered to
speak out against their perpetrators and affect
change for other victims. All of this moves us closer
to achieving our ultimate goal: a day when slavery
is truly eradicated.
