I love the Fall in Tennessee. Being from Southern California, where there are virtually no seasons, has given me a particularly special appreciation for this time of year. It is a time of new beginnings: the beginning of a new school year, the beginning of football season and now this year it is also the beginning of a new life. My husband and I welcomed our baby boy into the world on August 1st and we have spent the last bleary-eyed month falling in love with and learning this new little man. While this is usually the place where I get free reign to discuss my insights on music, artistry and spirituality, I’ve decided to simply give an admonition for this season of new beginnings:

In everything you do, whether musically or otherwise, begin with the One who created beginnings.

I can only imagine what the coming months and years have in store for me as I take on this new role as a Mom; and I can’t do anything to change what lies ahead, but I can make the choice to begin each day with the One who sustains, the One who gives life and the One that so graciously bestows new beginnings on us every year, every season, every moment.

Be blessed this Fall season,

Lindsey Kirkendall
