Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
I was reading this week about how an 11-year old girl who was revered as a living goddess in Nepal has recently decided to retire. It’s never occurred to me before that gods or goddess’ could retire. What sort of retirement benefits do you suppose they have for that kind of gig? Do they get social security? If they have a 401k or an IRA, is there a retirement for eternity option with those; assuming of course that all gods and goddess’ are immortal. Seriously, I found it rather depressing to learn that a godd
ess could retire, which means the people in Nepal right now are scrambling trying to find someone to replace her. Isn’t it good news to know that our God never retires? Isn’t it nice to know that he’s been on the job since before time began, and that he’ll continue to be on the job long after time has ceased? Best of all, he does his job because he loves you. That’s right, the God of the entire universe will never retire, will never quit, and will never “go in a different direction” because he loves you. To know that God loves me so much that he would never even think of retiring is what I call very good news.
