Robert Pascuzzi: ‘The Ravine’ book review

This powerful novel has been compared to The Shack but is more along the lines of a true crime read than a spiritual experience. The way the story’s tragedy, a murder, weaves the lives of the people affected is where the story thrives. The book takes us backwards through the events and betrayals that happened before the crime, a la the movie Crash. Due to a somewhat sluggish dialogue-laden midsection, the ending seems a bit rushed—but this story of forgiveness is a beautiful message of the light that hope can carry into the depths of darkness.
