Take Me Over features strong vocal melodies and honest and vulnerable lyrics. The songs feature a unique blend of James' gritty guitars, Emily's driving pop melodies, and a lot of heart.

The CD is considered to be of the "Contemporary Christian Music" genre. However, Emily did cringe when mentioning that. "It is definitely worship music; new worship music for 2011!"

Worship songs like All I Ever Wanted, You Can Have It All, and I Need You express a need in everyday life.

James says, "We wrote this record to be sung in churches. We are not very religious, but we do love God and we believe in Jesus in a very real way." Emily added, "We wanted to write worship songs that sing like you would talk. I didn't want it to sound churchy. These are not wimpy songs. A lot of guts were spilled writing these. I wrote “You Can Have It All” on my knees on my kitchen floor with tears streaming down my face because I thought my world was ending and it felt like it was my last prayer."

James wrote the title track, Take Me Over after a sudden moment of extreme desperation. "It took a lot for me to admit that I didn't have it all figured out, but I knew that if I didn't do something different, make some change, that my destiny would die. So I literally ran from my seat in a church service and literally, yes, literally, fell face down -- like, took a nose dive into the floor, and cried out to God to take over my life; to empower me to go on, and he did.

Take Me Over is released by SGM Publishing, a subsidiary of Steve Gray Ministries, Inc.
