Blanca: ‘Blanca’ album review

She may have first found fame with the soulful pop collective Group 1 Crew, but Blanca’s well on her way to solo success thanks to “Who I Am” being the highest charting debut single from a new artist in 2015. In addition to that electronically-spiked power ballad, this self-titled long player seamlessly switches between pop, hip-hop and the dance floor, all adorned with the latest production trends, plus perhaps most importantly, fear-shattering and faith-fueling lyrics gleaned from autobiographical inspiration.
